Learning Objectives
After attending the lecture the learner should:
1. Know the side effects and drug interactions for many common antiretrovirals.
2. Know indications for initiation of antiretroviral therapy.
3. Be able to create a rational antiretroviral regimen for a HAART naive HIV infected patient.
4. Be able to counsel a patient regarding his/her antiretroviral regimen.
5. Know prophylaxis and treatment regimens for common opportunistic infections seen in AIDS.
